Review: Diorskin Nude foundation
Product name: DIORSKIN NUDE (foundation)
Price: € 38,00
Description: Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup
The claims (as stated on the leaflet): "Containing nearly 40% water, this fluid foundation offers an instant sensation of well-being. Skin appears fresher, silky and feels more comfortable.
Thanks to micro-droplets of water, this foundation’s coverage is lighter than a “classic” fluid formula, and it evens out the complexion and makes it appear more radiant and transparent.
With daily use, the skin becomes more beautiful for an ever more natural and radiant result day after day."
My opinion: It is on the pricey side, true, but this foundation is amazing!
It is one of those second skin foundations (the latest trend after last year's minerals) which sets on your face without making you look cakey. It really does its job: I've never looked overly made-up, nor I have ever felt it was heavy on my skin.
It just evens out any discoloration and covers imperfections, leaving your skin to look really radiant. You look at yourself in the mirror and think: "oh, now I have a perfect skin!".
About the coverage: if this is light to them, I don't want to try the heavy one. It is absolutely perfect: I apply one very small dot on my forhead, cheeks, nose and chin and blend it in with my Sigma SS187 duo-fiber brush. The first layer is to even out my skin, then I build the coverage with a second layer, using the same amount of product. My skin looks flawless...it even hides my detested pores!!!
You really don't need much to make your face look amazing, so it will last for ages.
As for the skin improvement claim...I don't know if it is the foundation or the Normaderm treatment, to be honest, so I will not comment on that for now.
So overall, if you have some extra money, I can definitely recommend this foundation! It is fantastic. Packaging is very very nice, but also very heavy and dodgy (I pray I won't ever let it slip off of my hands because it is made of glass)...if you can call it a downside...
So...
vote: 10+/10
would I repurchase?: if I have the money to....hell yeah!!! ;)

untitled 1.2
I've spent the evening listening to music with my boyfriend, Fabrizio De Andrè has brought us otherworldly. All of the songs were pretty sad, so we either sang along or listened carefully in quiet. With that kind of mood, while he was taking me home, I observed the streets of the town.
Some were empty, with very few lights, and no festive aura whatsoever. Nevertheless, you can sense that the people who live there are gathered up, swapping the funniest anectodes of the year, or even some from the very past. They may have given each other very small gifts, but they're much appreciated, because of the thought that despite the credit crunch, your beloved ones wanted to save a little to display their affection.
Some others (streets) had houses decorated with all sorts of Christmas lights around them. You can picture the people who live there, having prosperous dinners, swapping the latest gossip regarding mutual acquaintances, exchanging the most expensive gifts under a rich, cheerful and colorful Christmas tree. I can't really decide which of these two is the most happy scene.
Some other streets, on the other hand, had no lights, and no houses either. They had prostitutes, waiting for a kerb-crawler to pick them up. They had people with no cause, walking in the icing blowing mistral wind. For all of these lonely people, today was a day like any other.
For all of these lonely people, I wish life can turn a little bit better, so that next year they will have their Christmas too.

What I got:

- a lovely Nomination ring...it has a pretty white and pink flower! Lovely, my kind of thing.
That's it, very few gifts this year, but very good ones! I really love everything!
So what did you get? I'm always so curious :D

Merry Christmas!
Hello lovelies,
since I'm going to have dinner with my family at my grandparents' house, I won't have access to the net to tell you girls later, but I wanted to say:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
May you have prosperity, peace and happiness today. And of course, some gifts.
I foolishly burnt the bottom of my quiches (as usual when I cook for somebody else on a special occasion, I am the most unlucky person in the world), and now I'm mad, because they taste great but look horrible. I had to cut them into little squares to scratch the burnt part away.
They have become appetizers now. As usual, no one helped me cooking and this is why it ended up this way. I hope my family won't judge the books by their covers.
But I am seriously irritated because I always look dumb on that. My cousin prepares the most wonderful sweets and cakes, my aunties the most beautiful dishes....and mine always look crappy.
Well anyway enough rambling.
Happy Christmas my darlings!

ooh yes, I made it!
I have finally managed to put on false lashes! I cut them into halves, to be honest. I needed to start somewhere with my practice, didn't I?
I also perfectioned the green and brown smokey eye inspired by the Urban Decay look-book on my BOS vol II palette. And with proper lighting and camera, it does look a lot better.
these lashes are from e.l.f. (www.eyeslipsface.co.uk) and only cost me £ 1,50.
Sounds barganeous, especially if you're a beginner with false lashes. Last year I spent € 7 on some Ardel falsies, couldn't get the hang of them, and ended up wasting them.
The only downside is that the little glue in the package does not even open, so you'll have to have your own glue.
Products used:
UDPP
UD Misdemeanor e/s all over the lid and on the lower lashline
UD Homegrown e/s on the inner corner, and blended onto Misdemeanor on the upperlashline and outer corner
UD Twice Baked e/s on the crease
UD 24/7 glide-on pencil in zero on the upper and lower waterlines, and then smudged into Misdemeanor on the lower lashline
e.l.f. dramatic false lashes (outer half of the eye)
two coats of Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara in Intense Black
e.l.f. brow kit to fill in my eyebrows.
DISCLAIMER: all of the afore-mentioned products were paid for. I do not represent or work for any of the company named in the post.

Your tears are the cure to my pain,
They are hope that has a new life.
Your tears are the cure to your pain,
They are the things left unsaid, and those left unasked,
The secluded sorrow that started all battles.
Never ever will I judge you from the stubborn perspective of my mere pain;
Never ever will I think that you are my shame,
My despair, and my cross to carry.
How could I?
After all, I am nothing but you.
They are hope that has a new life.

To whom I dedicate this fail attempt to poetry remains personal,
and for that very reason I would prefer that no one copy this material on any other site,
without my permission and my name as the only author of this.
It may be an horrible poem, but it means something to me.

I'm back!
...with an all-new WORSE connection!
if it had the same speed as a tortoise before, now it has the same speed as a pregnant sloth. You get my drift, don't you?
Well, at least I have it back.
It feels so nice to be back to the blogsphere!

sneak peek
Apologize...
Hello lovelies,
A quick post to tell you that I am so, so sorry for not being able to blog lately.
The connection in the dorm isn't back yet (seriously, 2 weeks to give us our freaking new passwords? Neféants!), and I honestly have no idea when it will be back.
Right now, I am at the university central library (on the other side of the town from where I live and my faculty is, because the next thing you know is that my faculty's library is CLOSED for works -nice timing, now that I need books for my thesis!) and I just wanted to check out the blog and deliver you a couple of messages:
1. I noticed I've reached 150 followers, so I want to say thank you everyone. Thanks to the new and the old followers too, who still take time to read my posts. It is much appreciated.
Now that I know that, I will make sure I buy some nice things to make a Christmas giveaway. Unfortunately I won't be able to post the giveaway until my connection will be back, cos it's not like I can walk miles (or wait ages for the bus) to come down here. It really is a long way. And the library is not opened on saturdays and sundays.
However, stay tuned. The Christmas/New Year giveaway will come soon
2. Thank you for all your support as regards my family situation. My aunt is back to her home, which by the way does not mean that she is feeling any better. Just that she will be able to face the fate in the company of her beloved ones. I might take the train and visit her on Sunday.
This situation brought me back to when I risked losing my grandfather, and now that I am 7 years older, I can see things under a slightly different light. I really want to share my thoughts, because I know (for facts, and for all of the kind messages you left me) that things like these can happen to anyone, anytime, and knowing how different people cope and react, may help us shape our outlook on such matters. It is not even a question of not feeling alone. I believe it is rather a question on how to cope with things.
3. I have tons of reviews to do, which include:
-Diorskin nude foundation;
- Soap and Glory's the Fab Pore mask review;
- my last elf order;
- and some more.
Thank you girls for bearing with me, now it's time for catching up on your blogs, and then do the research I came here to do for my French literature essay and presentation (I have to analyze Loin D'Eux, by Laurent Mauvigner, if any of you read it and want to discuss it, it is much appreciated LOL).
Love,
Lyd

Winter...
...has come. And it is damn cold (well, if you live in the UK I guess this is like early September for you...)!
And since I am now in my hometown (where my parents live) it is also oh-so-wet (it's by the sea)!
I hate this kind of weather! It is only nice when you stay in and you have air conditioning or a heating system. Unfortunately, not many houses in Sardinia are equipped with that.
My parents' is not. In fact, I am inside my cosy bed, under layers and layers of blankets LOL.
Enough with the useless information, and jibber jabber though...the point was to tell you that I have finally gotten a new camera! Yay for the business woman Lydia (moi) who sold hers, and managed to find a hella good deal on a Samsung ES55...I basically paid less than 40€ to get a new camera, how does that sound?
Anyway, it's lovely, has a lot of functions, it is pink (not shocking pink, but a nice girly light pink...the only color that was still on stock LOL), and most importantly has a proper white balance!!!
I took a picture with my boyfriend before charging the battery. What do you think? Does it take better pictures than the old one?

Ok never mind my ugly face there, with that hair I didn't put behind my ear and that looks like a growing beard ahah...it was just a test.
I love my boyfriend in this one (I hear you saying "tell me something new!")
So, on my face, fyi:
Diorskin Nude foundation in 030 (medium beige) - review coming soon -
Elizabeth Arden e/s in Sand all over the lid, Plumsmoke blended in the crease, Graphite in the outer corner of the eye (blended with Plumsmoke), Tulle as hightlighter.
Rimmel Sexy Curves mascara in Intense Black
Nothing on crazy dry lips, as you can see.
DISCLAIMER:
all of the afore-mentioned items have been paid for.
Alright, I'm off to catch up on Desperate Housewives and The Big Bang Theory!
(yes, I am a sucker for tv series eheh)

update
hello everyone,
you may have noticed my absence these days. My connection at the dorm has been disabled for a week, so I had no accesso to the internet.
I am now at my parents' house, so I'll rapidly get back to everyone... But I may disappear again...my auntie is getting worse. Chances are she won't make it :(.
thanks for the understanding. and hello new followers!
xoxo
