I am loving this recent trend consisting of a neutral/monochrome nail varnish, plus a "confetti" glitter top coat. 

My favorite by far is this combo: La Roche Posay Silicium in Beige + Shaka Glitter Top Coat in Starlight (it has golden and silver duochrome glitters). 

Neutral classy with a twist. Plus the Silicium nail varnishes from La Roche Posay are simply adorable in colors, and incredibly good in quality. 

Adoro questo trend che vede uno smalto di colore neutro o monocromatico con l'aggiunta del top coat effetto "confetti".

La combinazione che preferisco è senza dubbio questa: La Roche Posay Silicium in Beige + Glitter Top Coat Shaka in Starlight (ha dei glitter grossi dorati e argentati ma duochrome).

Di classe e neutro, ma con un tocco in più. Inoltre gli smalti Silicium di La Roche Posay sono davvero adorabili come colorazioni e incredibilmente buoni per qualità.

Review: La Roche Posay Toleriane Teint Crème d'Eau Hydratante and Mousse Mattifiante foundations.

This spring, La Roche Posay has launched two new foundations for their famous Toleriane Teint range, namely Crème d'Eau Hydratante, and Mousse Mattifiante.

Questa primavera, La Roche-Posay ha lanciato due nuovi fondontinta della gamma Toleriane Teint, ossìa l'Acqua Crema Idratante, e la Mousse Effetto Matt.

Toleriane Crème d'Eau Hydratante is targeted to normal to dry skins, and it is a foundation with the consistency of a tinted moisturizer. It is highly hydrating (claims are 12 hours of continuous hydration), feels fresh and light on the skin, but has a very good coverage. Very soft, it has a luminous finish that is not too dewy or glowy, so it is quite suitable for normal to combination skins too. People with combination skins may need to powder a bit on the nose and apples of the cheeks, or try blending in with Beauty Blender sponge (to be honest, I have the La Roche Posay oval shaped sponge and it works wonders, so if you have the opportunity to have this free gift at your local pharmacy, do not miss it).

Available in 5 shades, SPF 20, price is around 20€.

Toleriane Acqua Crema Idratante è indicato per le pelli da normali a secche, ed è un fondotinta con la consistenza di una crema colorata. E' estremamente idratante (il claim è di 12 ore di continua idratazione), ed ha una freschezza ed una leggerezza sulla pelle, che sembra quasi difficile credere abbia anche una buona coprenza. Molto soffice, questo fondotinta illumina in maniera discreta, perciò si rende un buon alleato anche delle pelli da normali a miste. Queste ultime, però, dovranno ricorrere ad un po' di cipria su naso e guance, oppure alla stesura con una spugnetta tipo Beauty Blender (io, ad essere sincera, ho quella proprio di La Roche Posay, che è identica e funziona alla perfezione, quindi se potete ottenerla in omaggio nella vostra farmacia, fiondatevi).

Toleriane Mousse Mattifiante is more targeted to combination to oily skins, although I can assure you, its wonderful velvet-like finish can easily suit people with a normal to dry skin too. 

Long-lasting, this light mousse provides a very good coverage and will resist transpiration. You can apply it very easily with a brush or with your fingers and obtain a nice level of blending.

My only gripe with it is the discrepancy between its color range and the afore-metioned Crème d'Eau Hydrantante's range. In fact, I have both foundation in the shade 03 and the Mousse Mattifiante foundation is way darker with a different undertone.

Same shade range, same SPF, same price.

Toleriane Mousse Effetto Matt è invece più indicato per le pelli da miste a grasse, anche se vi posso assicurare che il suo finish vellutato rende bene anche sulle pelli da normali a secche. 

Duratura, questa mousse leggera ha una coprenza ottimale e resiste alla traspirazione. Si può applicare facilmente con un pennello o con le dita, ottenendo pressoché lo stesso grado di sfumatura. 

L'unica pecca è la discrepanza incredibile tra la gamma di colori di questi due fondotinta. Difatti, io li ho tutti e due nella colorazione 03 e la Mousse Effetto Matt è decisamete più scura e con un sottotono diverso. 

Stessa gamma di colori, stesso SPF, stesso prezzo di prima.

To be honest, I love both foundations. They're recommended to people with sensitive skins (like every other product from the brand) easily available everywhere, and have a decent price.

The only negative side, I find to be a poor color range. Other then that, if you find a nice match for your skin color, I suggest you give them a try! 

Francamente a me piacciono entrambi i fondotinta. Sono indicati per le pelli sensibili (come del resto qualsiasi altro prodotto del marchio), facilmente reperibili ovunque ed hanno un prezzo onesto.

L'unica nota negativa è probabilmente la gamma di colori molto scarna. A parte questo, se riuscite a trovare il vostro colore, vi suggerisco di provarli!

Summer favorites part I: sun screens, skincare, chic smells

I think I hear you say: "what's the point in writing about that now?".

But let me say something: a.summer's not over; b. some of these products can be used all year round; c. I'm trying to make up excuses for my being a bad blogger this summer, which I spent with friends, at the beach or at night clubs, sick (I even got to the ER) and in Berlin for work.

E' come se vi sentissi dire: "che senso ha scrivere un post del genere ora?".

Ma lasciatemi dire che: a. l'estate non è ancora finita; b. alcuni di questi prodotti si possono usare tutto l'anno; c. sto cercando di trovare scuse per sopperire al fatto che son stata veramente una pessima blogger quest'estate, passata tra amici al mare o in  discoteca, malata (e già, sono addirittura finita in pronto soccorso) e a Berlino per lavoro.

But let's get back to the point of this post: summer favorites. I'm going to divide them into two categories, first of which I am covering here, second of which will be make-up.

Ma torniamo al nostro oggetto: i prodotti preferiti di quest'estate. Li dividerò in due categorie, la prima delle quali è questa, la seconda delle quali riguarderà, invece, il make-up.

SUNSCREENS

Let me start by saying: I must wear an SPF 30 on my face, because I get dark spots from the sun. SPF 30 on my body is too much for me, 20 is a good start for the first half of the summer, and then I can even get to 15/10. I have a light to medium, yellow-toned skin (in other words, light olive!); I tan easily, but I also tend to have new moles each summer. If you are like me, I would suggest investing in sun screens and also, sacrifice a bit of tan in order to prevent your skin from the forming of new moles. But hey, that's just my advice, ok?!

Inizio col dire una cosa: metto la protezione 30 sul viso perché ogni estate vedo comparire delle brutte macchie solari. Un SPF 30 è troppo per il resto del mio corpo, 20 è una buona base per la prima metà dell'estate e poi posso scendere anche a 15/10. Ho una pelle da chiara a media, con un forte sottotono giallo (in altre parole, una carnagione olivastro-chiara!); mi abbronzo facilmente, ma ho anche la tendenza ad avere la comparsa di nei ogni estate. Se siete come me, vi suggerirei di investire in solari davvero buoni e anche di sacrificare un po' dell'agognata abbranzatura per prevenire la comparsa di nuovi nei. Ma dopotutto, il mio è solo un consiglio, ok?!

Observations/Osservazioni: absorbs fast, does not leave a greasy film on your skin, does not accentuate pores, protects perfectly, suitable for everyday use, and under make-up use, does not cause break-outs (very important!) on combination skin. // assorbimento rapido, non lascia una patina grassa, non accentua i pori, protegge perfettamente, adatta all'uso quotidiano e sotto il trucco, non causa reazioni acneiche (molto importante!) nelle pelli miste. PARABEN FREE

Observations/Osservazioni: clear spray formula, protects very well, refreshing, feels like water on the skin. The downside is that you cannot see how well you spray the product on your skin, so I do not suggest this when you go to the beach with the aim of having a uniform tan. I do recommend this for city and sports usage. // formula in spray trasparente, protegge molto bene, rinfrescante, sembra acqua sulla pelle. La pecca è che non si riesce a vedere come lo si spruzza sulla pelle, quindi non lo raccomando a chi va in spiaggia per ottenere un'abbronzatura uniforme. Lo raccomando invece per utilizzi sportivi e in città.
