I've got a make-up crush on...

I often play with bright colors for fun, but I rarely wear them.
Mostly I apply them to my friends when they ask me to do their make-up, or I wear them when I go clubbing, or there is a special occasion.

I'm usually more neutral, or sultry, and maybe go smokey a little bit.
I do love red lips!

So this is why my make-up crush is:

Hayden Panettiere
(which means "baker" in Italian, by the way)

A penny for your thoughts

Recently, the most famous Italian make-up artist on youtube (ClioMakeUp) was invited to a (lousy) TV show.
I will not dwell on with the disappointment of seeing her treated like a piece of meat, as they didn't even ask her to talk about her experience with makeup and that she has recently published a book and so on (they just told her to do a green look on some random girl, I think is some kind of tv prostitute, and had the other guests talk ish about makeup. They really didn't know what they were saying, they do not know the art behind makeup).

The point is that a psychologist who was there came up with the following sentence:

"Make-up make us look all the same"

Obviously, I do not agree with her for so many good reasons, but I am really curious to know what you think about this statement.

eofn: Urban Decay Inspired series, part II

For my inspiration picture, click here, although I am sure you all know where it comes from by now.
U.D. does not sell in Italy, so no, I did not use any U.D. product for this look...

...and that reminds me that I don't really need it, because I can have the same effect with other things I already have,
but since I can find U.D. in London I'm going to buy a palette nevertheless - ahah...I call it investment. Or being spoilt.
This look was actually pretty easy and fast. Cropping the pictures and uploading them was not, on the other hand.
The connection in my dorm SUCKS!
The flash captured pigments so much that it looks wet. It is not. And my skin's not oily, but I'm wearing no foundation.
I was just bored and only did 1 eye to try it out ehehe...
So the products I used are:

e.l.f. eye primer;
the "lightest" bright blue in the Sleek Acid palette;
blended in with the very light glittery baby blue in my Pupa Precious gold palette;
an orang-y shimmery e/s blended in the crease from a Pupa palette;
Yellow/gold glittery e/s from my Pupa Precious gold palette highlighting the browbone, and on the inner corner;
black kajal pencil in the waterline, upperlashline and in the crease (yep!);
Pupa Diva's lashes mascara (ran out of my Sexy Curves today, and didn't want to use the Lancome one for a trial)

I guess this prooves us all that we don't need every single eyeshadow that is released, we just want them.
At least, I do, and I often give in...

If you have any suggestion for that...:)

Make-up:

1.Sleek Storm Palette
2. Some Urban Decay palette
3. Barry M Dazzle Dusts - some neutrals and browns, pink gold
4. Barry M Fine Glitter Dusts - Black gold, black purple, opal,
5. Barry M nail paint - Pink flamingo
6. Gosh Darling Lipstick
7. Sleek Ink pots - black, brown, purple
8. MeMeMe pussycat cheek and lip tint

Accessories:
a nice belt and a nice big bag

Anyone has suggestions on where to find all of this for cheap in zone 1?

palette love...

I am an eyeshadow girl. I focus on my eyes more than anything, eventhough many times I only wear black pencil, and black mascara.
I own a lot of single shadows, but my main love goes to palettes.
Unfortunately my mom threw away or gave away the palettes I had when I was a teenager. They were all from Pupa.

Here are the fave four palettes I own now:
(L-R) Sleek i-Divine Acid
Pupa Precious Gold
Elizabeth Arden Jewels & Velvet compact for eyes
Clarins Nature Temptations Palette for eyes n 1

strangely enough, they're all limited edition palettes. I am so glad I own them!
I can't wait to go to London and buy more Sleek palettes, and eventually an Urban Decay one.
And, for the record, the Sleek i-Divine Acid palette is back in stores by popular demand, so now you have a second chance to get your mitts on it!

So what is/are your favorite palette/s?

Enjoy, lovelies!

Recent purchases (a.k.a. wallet assassin)

After getting a haircut (it was about time, my hair almost reached the end of my back), I decided to browse the local Linea Bellezza and Coin to find some things for my trip.
I couldn't resist, and took advantage of the 40% discount on Elizabeth Arden's make up for card holders.
I am definitely feeling buyer's remorse, but the palette was so sophisticated! :S
So, on to what I bought:

Elizabeth Arden's "Jewels & Velvet - compact for eyes"
A nice black satin compact that secures a 5 eyeshadows' palette.
The colors are sultry and sophisticated. The shades are called (L-R):
Plumsmoke (more of a sparkling mid-toned brown), Graphite (lovely very dark sparkling grey), Tulle (very very light pink - shimmery), Indigo (as the name says it is a dark shimmery blue), Sandstone (sand/tan shimmery color).
Therefore there are 3 neutral shades, one of which is sparkling, and two darker shades to smoke out your eyes.
You can really create both day and night looks with this palettes, and the colors are definitely suitable for every skin tone, eye color, hair color.
The palette contains a two ended brush (sponge applicator and actually brush) which I won't bother using.
The colors are described in the box as "Rich, true color that lasts all day. Vitamin-enriched (what vitamin? Not clear!). Crease resistant. Silky smooth and Ophthalmologist and clinically tested".
I can agree with the rich, and silky smooth descriptions, but I will have to play with that before confirming the other details.

Swatches - without my crappy flash:

Plumsmoke, Graphite, Tulle, Indigo, Sandstone

close up of the sparkles of these two colors. My flash is stupid, and this picture does not do them justice
But you can get the hint of the sparkles. Nice!

Lancome's "Virtuose Black Carat" mascara
I have actually bought this like 2 weeks ago. It is described as "divine lasting curves and lenght mascara"
And it is!!! I love it, If only I had thicker lashes this would give me a false lash effect. It doubles the lenght of your lashes, and does curve them!

Last thing I've got is the travel size Clinique's 3-step skin care system.
I've been wanting to give that a try for ages now, and the fact that it is the only thing you can get travel size bottles of convinced me. I will bring this to London and see if it does good to my skin.
I really hope the stupid visible pores on the apples of my cheeks will go away!
I got it for the skin type n. 2: dry combination - because my skin is prone to break outs, has visible pores, and uneven color, but it is not oily at all, and most of the break out treatments peel my skin off because it dries it out too much.
So steps for skin type 2 are: liquid (or solid) facial soap MILD - cleanse;
clarifyng lotion 2 - exfoliate;
dramatically different moisturizing lotion - moisturize.

Has anyone ever tried the 3-step skin care system by Clinique?
How did you find it?
